Malta

The Malta (7.5 m x 6.6 m) is our compact 2 bedroom granny flat for backyards where council regulations require a second dwelling to be under 50m2. It has been designed for those with limited space, who need a cabin with an extra room for family, hobby or guests. The second bedroom may be used for hobbies like arts and crafts or an office.

In traditional YZY style, this cottage has high ceilings (up to 3.6m) with exposed beams creating a light, airy open space.

Walls are 80mm thick which conform to regulations for a habitable dwelling, and double glazed windows and doors to maintain a more constant, comfortable internal temperature and quiet living space.
