Prior to purchasing our kit home, my wife and I had been living in Cairns for about 2 ½ years
and had spent countless hours looking for suitable builders and visiting display homes. We were
specifically after something different and were surprised by the lack of interest in constructing
something other than the concrete block homes so apparent in the area.
Budget was another major concern and we were frustrated as to why there were significant cost
differences between Cairns and other major cities. In some cases, the price differential was as high
as 25%! Local suppliers cited reasons such as freight and labour costs, etc. Our research revealed
that whilst the freight component would add a nominal amount to the final price, the labour
content should be similar.
We began to wonder whether perhaps the pricing of local homes was either grossly overstated or

At first, my wife and I were both sceptical about a ‘kit home’ concept. After all, we were after
something special and insisted on quality construction. Following discussions with Adrian and
after viewing the homes on their website, we began to appreciate the quality of this product and
the benefits of having a home prefabricated in a factory with the entire manufacturing process
handled by a single company.
As second time builders, it was important to have a higher level of input into this project to
ensure that the construction was completed to our satisfaction. To our surprise, our kit home was
delivered and completed to lock up stage in less than 4 weeks, a substantial effort for a floor area
in excess of 230 square metres.
My wife and I are extremely happy with our purchase, and with the expert advice and

TC Yasi hit Tully and then travelled up and over the range to Ravenshoe. It was pretty scarey
